Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with an international leader in the nuclear energy industry to recruit Mechanical Technicians/Fitters for its Cranfield site.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Engineering Production Manager, you will: Be responsible for the building of test rigs, assisting the project team in technical queries and problem solving. Utilise engineering diagrams to identify and plan build works. Support with bid preparation by sharing relevant information with the engineering team. Provide machining and engineering fitting services to areas within the business. Support the wider team in general maintenance and required works. Share ideas for continuous improvement across the business. Support and mentor junior members of the team in their development. Perform any other duties as required.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following: A Mechanical fitting, machining or fabrication apprenticeship or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance or production role. Additional training in safety, forklift truck, rigging, or enclosed spaces would be advantageous.

Personal Skills

The Mechanical Fitter role would suit someone who is: Experienced in fitting mechanical components. Computer literate. Has good communication skills and contributes to team goals.
