BoM Engineer

Forseven, a revolutionary company is looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, are seeking a BoM Engineer to join our highly skilled and dynamic Engineering team. The role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of our offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field. An Engineering Database Management (EDM) is a central function in the company that controls the new part number allocation, structure an indented BoM (Bill of Materials), manages the change process, administers the implementation and management of PLM system, helps the business in setting up the Standards. In addition, the function ensures that Engineering releases are correctly done, documented and recorded in the BoM and Data systems. What you will do: Working with the Company’s Design, Engineering and Technical Procurement functions to ensure the BoM data is accurate with regards to part specification, source codes, weight, quantity, and all other attributes (metadata). Extract the vehicle BoM for GMT projects from 3DX when required and send/upload it to the tools such as Smartsheet and ProjectEx for project ETRS reports and status. Carry on a BoM correctness exercise before each gateway and whenever there is a massive incorrectness in the data. Create documentation on the BoM processes if not available. Feed all the data from the EBoM to different areas – MBoM, ERP system, Smartsheet, Mass and Cost tracker on a regular basis and assist the ERP team in keeping the data updated. Use high level Product specifications to develop an initial BoM to support concept cost and timing. Check the part list on a regular basis and release the BoM in 3DX during the BoM freeze. Liaise with 3DX, Smartsheet team, and function groups to keep the system and tracker updated. Managing the Standard parts catalogue and liaise with the suppliers. Who you are: Display evident experience working within a demanding team environment. Solid understanding of BOM, design standards, material standards and engineering drawing standards. Good working knowledge of whole vehicle design is essential. PLM Data & BoM management experience is a must. Knowledge of 3D Experience (PLM) systems. Proven success in applying design standards in automotive or other applicable industries. Experience of coordinating with suppliers and internal teams. Relevant experience in Standard document implementation. Smartsheet, ProjectEx, SAP experience is a distinct advantage.
