Our client is a successful Civil and Structural design Consultancy working out of a number of design offices across the UK. They are currently seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join various locations. Working as an Associate Civil Engineer, you must support and lead the team to ensure technical and commercial targets are fulfilled. A forward-thinking Associate Civil Engineer will lead and deliver innovative projects whilst promoting the company to existing and prospective clients, thereby driving success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this Associate Director civils role include:

Develop concept design and be actively involved with all projects under your direction.

Produce high-quality designs for feasibility, costing and construction purposes, highways & drainage, street works, public works, SUDS, building drainage, utilities coordination/diversion of services if and when required by our clients.

Influence development and infrastructure master-planning using knowledge of Manual for Streets (1-3), Highways Act 1980, Water Industry Act 2004, Land Drainage Act, New Roads and Street Works Act, Regional and Local Design standards and other Statutory Instruments, etc., as required.

Lead teams to assist with consultancy guidance, feasibility, outline, and detailed design, referencing manual for streets, sewers for adoption, design manual for roads and bridges, specification for highways works and building regulations and guidance.

Undertake the specification and co-ordination of thorough site investigations, complete inspections, identify potential issues and solve problems.

Undertake cost-control for projects and compile invoices in an accurate and timely manner.

Plan, replan and manage project resources under your supervision.

Supervise staff under your direction and offer pro-active advice in relation to problem-solving issues.

Undertake and arrange effective mentoring of employees under your direction.

Support other Senior Team Members in management of resources to ensure successful outcomes.

Represent the company at client and design team meetings as required.

Assist in recruitment, retention and management of staff and ensure successful outcomes for clients/customers.

Develop realistic and competitive fee proposals for future work.

Contribute to business development activities, attendance at events, social media promotions, production of case studies and other marketing as required for the benefit of the company.

Undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development and maintain CPD records in accordance with the requirements of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Software Capabilities should include:

Use AutoCAD 2D Drafting, PDS Site Developer / Civil 3D, Flow / Micro-drainage, or similar hydraulic design software, TEDDS, and other industry-recognised software. Microsoft Project or similar, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project Management Software.

In order to be considered for this Associate Director Civil Engineer role you will:

Ideally Chartered Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers and/or the Institution of Structural Engineers.

Support to progress Professional Accreditation will be considered for suitable candidates where required.
