We are seeking to appoint a Press Assistant who will assist the lead printer in the general operation of the printing press. The assistant is also responsible for preparing the press for a job change; ensuring all equipment and materials are ready and available. The Role In this role, you will: Prepare reels of raw material for press and load raw materials onto the press unwind unit. Assist the printer to load and unload plate cylinders and anilox rollers to and from the press. Maintain sufficient ink supply at press; monitor reservoirs throughout production and refill as required. Handle delicate printing plates – load plates and strip plates from cylinders whilst checking plates for damage or deterioration and report any issues to the lead printer. Use solvent-based cleaning agents to clean various press components. Use your keen eye for detail to proactively spot any errors in specifications and job bags, as well as show initiative to problem-solve and come to a solution. The Person To succeed in this role you will: Be enthusiastic to work as part of a team, but also be able to use your initiative to work independently. Have experience in a manufacturing environment. Be competent in English and Math at a reasonable level. Have excellent attention to detail. Lead by example and ensure excellent Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times. Hours of Work 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 £29,744 - Starting salary of £23,795 + 25% shift allowance when working shift hours. Why Multi-Color?
