Description
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious Business Intelligence developer to join the ScS Reporting Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for database management as well as creating complex queries to extract data for Power BI visualisation.
Please note - this position is based at our Customer Support Centre in Sunderland and you will be required to work from the office. What does the role involve? Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and data integration solutions to meet business requirements.
Analyse and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to improve performance and efficiency.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular maintenance, backup, and recovery processes.
Work closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that support business objectives.
Develop and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and visualise data through Microsoft Power BI to provide insight on trends and opportunities.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, processes, and procedures.
Implement and maintain database security protocols to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations .
Play an active role in fault resolution (e.g. data pipeline failures) occurring in the operation of software, especially those requiring greater expertise.
Responsible for end to end data lifecycle.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or minimum of 3 years of experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar role.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server with a strong knowledge of T-SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions
Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
Familiarity with database design principles and normalization.
Understanding of indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques.
Ability to deliver data insights via Power BI or similar visualisation tools
