Reporting to the Working Team Leader, the machinist will manufacture precision components compliant with drawing requirements including tolerances and specifications, carrying out self-verification of technical compliance with appropriate measuring equipment and techniques. Requirements

Responsibilities Select and load specified fixtures tooling and program to machine (for CNC machine measure tool and set tool compensations). Either for own use or for lower skilled grade colleagues. Achieve and maintain established process and takt times for jobs throughout batches or single piece flow scenarios. On manufacture of the first off, verify that all parameters conform to specification stamping/signing production cards. In the case of detecting a non-conformance part, recording and isolating the defects and informing the Team leader. Actively complying and encouraging all lean and continuous improvement activities. Engaging in 6S and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities including removal of swarf, topping up of coolants, keeping machines and work areas clean and tidy. Proactively seeking every opportunity for self-improvement by learning additional machine control systems, machining processes, and component verification methodology. Carrying out any other related duties assigned as deemed necessary by the working team leader. Person Specification Skilled and proven machinist capable of working to Aerospace tolerances. Fully conversant with manufacturing documentation including procedures, work instructions, and customer specifications. Working knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing methods and processes. Time-served apprenticeship, certificate of craftsmanship and/or experience of aero structure products or equivalent experience. An effective team worker, a logical thinker, and a self-starter who drives towards development. Other information
