Summary
Freedom Network Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Operational Estimator to compile estimations in line with supplied documentation and current standards as part of the recently awarded Northern Powergrid (NPg) Cable Engineering Services contract.
As an Operational Estimator, you will take the lead on surveying/pricing new Connection projects and be responsible for delivering accurate, tailored estimates in a timely and efficient manner. The Estimator is a key player in driving company growth by ensuring NPg Connection enquiries are dealt with efficiently while being accurate and adhering to the client’s specification.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working/pricing local DNO networks (LV to 11KV). Typical projects will incorporate Streetworks/TM, all civils works, network investigation & customer interruptions, familiarity with distribution systems and customer point of connection and metering. Key Deliverables: Preparation of quotations from specifications and drawings within defined time periods On-site surveys/site assessments and evaluation of risks and potential problems/financial delivery damages Evaluations of options or alternatives Checking the accuracy and completeness of NPg, 3rd party documents, and engineering specifications Liaising with operational colleagues Attending handover meetings as required to explain project scope, estimate, clarifications, and assumptions. What We’re Looking For: A good knowledge of Underground LV installations, cabling, terminations, and metering Previous experience in an estimating role or delivery background involving exposure to a wide range of DNO connections projects Formal training in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or other relevant subjects A proven track record in providing technical solutions and costing for an electrical and civil engineering environment A full driving licence DNO Authorisations.
