Fire Door Assembler

is responsible for assembling fire doors and components to meet precise specifications and regulatory standards. This role requires hands-on experience with timber doors and a strong understanding of fire safety regulations. The assembler will work closely with the production team to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time, contributing to the company’s commitment to safety and excellence. Location: Knowsley Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday The application process will require you to show where the essential skills and experiences have been demonstrated. Responsibilities:

Assemble timber fire doors and frames according to technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Install hardware, seals, and intumescent strips to ensure doors meet fire safety standards. Prepare doors for finishing by conducting quality checks and making any necessary adjustments. Quality Control

Inspect assembled doors to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and third-party certifications. Identify and rectify assembly defects or inconsistencies during the process. Maintain detailed records of completed assemblies and quality checks. Compliance with Fire Safety Regulations

Ensure all assembled fire doors meet regulatory requirements, including BS and EN fire safety standards. Stay updated on changes in fire safety regulations and apply them to the assembly process. Collaborate with the Production Manager to prepare documentation for certification bodies. Tool and Equipment Maintenance

Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively for door assembly. Perform routine checks and maintenance on tools to ensure optimal performance. Report any equipment malfunctions to the Production Manager. Health and Safety

Follow all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment. Wear and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, reducing hazards and improving efficiency. Communication and Collaboration

Coordinate with the Production Manager and team members to meet production schedules. Communicate any material shortages or assembly issues to the relevant staff. Work collaboratively with other departments, including CAD operators and machinists, to ensure smooth workflow. Requirements

Proven experience in assembling timber doors, with a focus on fire door manufacturing. Strong understanding of fire safety regulations and standards. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of fire door components, including seals, intumescent strips, and hardware. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry, Joinery, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Certification or training in fire door assembly or fire safety regulations is advantageous. Good physical stamina and the ability to withstand repetitive tasks and lift heavy materials. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders. Commitment to workplace safety and adhering to proper protocols.
