An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Primary Care Nurse to work within our Primary Care Team at HMP Lowdham Grange providing acute, rehabilitative and primary care to offenders within a prison environment. We have well-established and strong relationships with both the prison team and external partners who support us to deliver healthcare safely, effectively and efficiently. Main duties of the job

To work as part of the Healthcare Centre team leading in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient needs and appropriate care and treatment. Ensure the implementation of the National Service Frameworks and ensure maintenance of high standards of care to the prison population. To coordinate and lead the team as operational daily nurse in charge. To provide leadership, support for and supervision of the team. Maintain professional standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. Working for our organisation

The Offender Health Care Group is one of the largest and most successful providers of prison healthcare in the UK. The Care Group provides physical, mental health and substance misuse healthcare services in prisons across the East Midlands, Lincolnshire & Leicestershire. The Care Group provides healthcare to 7 prisons and a short term holding facility. You are part of a large peer group of 400+ healthcare professionals with access to peer support, supervision and excellent opportunities for learning and development. We are committed to working in partnership with prison services, national probation service other healthcare providers and our criminal justice system partners to improve health, support justice to reduce re-offending behaviour. The Offender Health Team truly believes it can make a difference to the lives of offenders by offering consistent, high-quality care in primary, mental health and substance misuse services that are equivalent to health services delivered outside of Prison. To lead effective healthcare services for prisoners which deliver against required standards, e.g. Key Performance Indicators, Prison Health Performance Quality Indicators, CQC and HMIP. To demonstrate innovative practice whilst maintaining clinical efficacy, enabling the service to compete as provider of choice to local commissioners. You will need to have a valid RGN Qualification and be registered with the NMC. You should also be flexible, adaptable and have good IT skills. Qualifications

First level registered nurse, RGN Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant area e.g. Tissue Viability, Continence Promotion First Aid qualification HLS training up to date Mentor and Assessor Independent non-medical prescriber Experience

Experience of Health Education and Promotion. Experience of triaging of patients with a range of clinical conditions. Experience of Chronic Disease management. Experience of supervising and appraising staff. Experience of working with other organisations. Experience of working in criminal justice setting. Experience of close working relationships with a variety of statutory agencies and other external organisations. Skills

Teaching and assessing students. Clear written and verbal communication skills. I.T skills including Word, Excel and electronic patient record systems. Effective problem solving and decision making skills. Presentation Skills. Knowledge
