Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc and acetylene welding. Use all machinists and patternmaker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully. Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal, plastic and wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates. Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments. Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .001. Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition. Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor or group leader. Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision. High school diploma or GED. Have previously completed a Patternmaker apprenticeship program. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a toolroom environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design models. Detail-oriented. Ability to work to a deadline. Ability to adhere to company rules and guidelines, including daily attendance. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Physically fit and able to stand for long periods. Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly. CNC mill and/or ram EDM setup and operation experience preferred.
