As part of our ongoing development, our team is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced full-time Band 6 Children’s Occupational Therapist to join our enthusiastic and productive team, offering a high-quality service across North Derbyshire.

As a therapist working in a community setting, you will hold a caseload across our geographical area, supported by a band 7 therapist. Your role will be to evaluate and support the functional independence of children in a variety of settings, including mainstream and special schools. We have excellent links with other teams in Specialist Children’s Services, Education, and Social Care and value working collaboratively with others to meet the needs of children and families.

Your clinical duties will include: Devising programmes and setting goals to develop skills. Assessment and provision of specialist equipment including seating. Coaching and close liaison with parents, carers, and staff in educational settings. Contributing to and supporting ongoing programmes of service developments and improvement.

You must be able to think creatively, work flexibly and independently, as well as being a strong team player with excellent communication skills.

You will work as part of a supportive and friendly team based in The Den, our purpose-built centre for Children’s Services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Our service supports children and young people from 0 to 19 who have functional difficulties associated with a physical disability or difficulty. We have a strong team identity and are working together to realise our vision of providing a sustainable, innovative, high-quality service across North Derbyshire.
