The Royal Cornwall Hospital is the main acute healthcare provider for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly providing a full range of services accessed by more than 600,000 people a year. The Clinical Imaging Service is county-wide offering patients high-quality diagnostics in their local community hospital or specialist services at the Royal Cornwall, St Michaels, and West Cornwall Hospitals. We are looking for a self-motivated, compassionate, caring, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual to help and support the clinical staff within the Clinical Imaging Department. Although based at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, the post-holder will be required to travel to community sites on an ad-hoc basis and therefore the ability to travel independently between sites and have unrestricted access to a motor vehicle insured for business purposes is required. Main duties of the job

The Clinical Imaging Assistant will be required to undertake a wide range of duties under the direct supervision of the Clinical Imaging staff, encompassing clerical, patient care, and the transportation of patients to all Imaging departments. You will need to be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills, have a practical approach, and mechanical aptitude. A good general education is necessary, including basic IT skills. Previous experience working with patients or customers and basic clerical/keyboard skills and computer literacy are essential for the post. Previous experience as a carer would be desirable. Qualifications

Good education to include Grade A-C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and/or relevant NVQ Level 2 Experience

Prior experience of working with the general public Computer literate with basic IT skills Previous experience of working within the NHS or Healthcare system Practical and intellectual skills

Effective and adaptable communication skills Ability to work quickly and efficiently to a consistently high standard Able to complete pre-procedural checks in at least one modality Basic patient observation skills Disposition adjustment

Take responsibility for developing oneself and motivated to learn Flexible in working patterns and location Additional circumstances
