Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Rail

Yorkshire Assistant Quantity Surveyor | £33,000 Plus Package | Leeds My client is a Regional Contractor with a turnover of £40m who operate within a range of different schemes including Rail, Civils, Drainage and Marine works, with project values up to £15m. You will be working on a £10m Network Rail maintenance framework. This Contractor has been established for over 30 years with an impressive track record and a well-known name in the industry. Responsibilities: Prepare estimates using a schedule of rates Price variations / technical queries to contracted works Liaise with delivery team regarding works executed Analyse cost reports Assist in producing final accounts Negotiate and agree final accounts with Client Compile cost-value reconciliations Submit periodic valuations Assess sub-contractors claims Attend site to take measurements Attend progress meetings Contribute to monthly commercial meetings Submit periodic applications for payment Produce commercial reports for the Board of Directors Desirable Skills: Similar experience working within a contracting environment Rail experience Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised HND / HNC is essential Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a similar Civil Engineering degree MS Office – Essential The rewards for working for this highly successful main contractor include a car allowance, great healthcare, and one of the best pensions available in the industry.
