Are you passionate about development and eager to make a significant impact? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Development Associate on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers a unique chance to work on high-profile projects and contribute to our strategic goals. Purpose of the Role:

As a Development Associate, you will assist the Development Director (DD) and Development Manager (DM) in maximizing value and performance in line with our Strategic Business Unit (SBU) strategy and business plan. You will be responsible for managing multiple work streams to deliver The Crown Estate's development pipeline, ensuring cost, value, and programme delivery targets are met. Key Responsibilities:

Maximize Value and Performance:

Align with SBU strategy and business plan to achieve financial, social, and environmental goals. Achieve Quarterly Targets:

Contribute to the achievement of quarterly targets relevant to each project's stage. Manage Work Streams:

Oversee the day-to-day management of multiple work streams for two development projects, supporting the DD and DM. Collaborate with Teams:

Work with internal and external project teams on various aspects, including commercial market interface, stakeholder management, energy strategy, and financial modelling. Budget Management:

Monitor and manage budgets to ensure cost and value targets are achieved. Stakeholder Relationships:

Maintain and manage specific stakeholder relationships locally. Promote Innovation:

Actively promote innovation in placemaking, social impact, digital, and sustainability. Risk Management:

Proactively manage business risks, including Health & Safety, and escalate issues when necessary. Project Reporting:

Ensure project reporting is up to date and governance is implemented, including Professional Services Agreements and cost forecasts. What We’re Looking For:

Development Experience:

Experience in development appraisals and feasibility to identify viable opportunities. Excellent Communicator:

Skilled in writing governance reports and producing relevant documentation. Mixed-Use Assets:

Experience with residential and commercial projects is desirable. Team Player:

Proven ability to work as part of a team to deliver projects through various RIBA stages. Relevant Qualification:

Qualification in Real Estate, Surveying, Engineering, or Architecture. Procurement Experience:

Involvement in procurement/supply chain processes for large construction or development projects. Negotiation Skills:

Strong ability to negotiate, influence, and build relationships internally and externally. Interpersonal Skills:

Resilient, diplomatic, and excellent at building relationships. Motivated and Independent:

Highly motivated team player who can work independently to achieve goals. Planning Knowledge:

Strong understanding of the London town planning environment and planning approval stages. Legal Understanding:

Knowledge of legal requirements and third-party approvals needed throughout development stages. Why Join Us?
