We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. This role is an integral part of the finance function, supporting the Management Accountants in providing high quality management information to budget managers in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities Include: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports for budget managers, providing detailed variance analysis on a monthly basis. Undertake monthly review of balance sheet control accounts. Assist with monthly budget manager meetings, reviewing year to date expenditure, and re-forecasting year-end position. Assist with the monthly payroll reconciliation and checks on our external payroll provider, including submitting monthly requirements to the provider. Assist the Management Accountant with the preparation of the Budget annually. Liaise with external auditors as part of the year-end audit process. Assist in the preparation of VAT returns for Saffron Housing Trust & any subsidiaries. Support the Finance Assistants with the bank, purchase and sales ledger. Play an active part in the development of new systems and processes. Our ideal candidate will have:

Qualified (AAT), part-qualified or qualified by experience. Experience in assisting the preparation of Management Accounts. Knowledge of statutory accounting including accruals/prepayments, posting monthly journals, etc. Competent financial background, able to communicate effectively with non-finance staff. Keen to provide high quality service to other areas of the organisation, taking pride in their work. Strong team player, able to work well within the team to ensure the accurate completion of management accounts. Well-organised, methodical and analytical to meet strict deadlines. Ability to use IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, to manipulate high volumes of data into meaningful information. The Company
