in Bedfordshire, prior to completing the remainder of the three-year contract in Wales (Merthyr Tydfil). As a minimum you will be a skilled fitter / assembler - perhaps from an aircraft / aerospace / vehicular / trains / coach building background. The successful candidate will join a thriving and modern environment, working from test procedures and engineering instructions on a programme critical to the MOD. Ability to complete set ups and perform quality and performance testing. Ability to work from written instructions with limited supervision. Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment with high accuracy. Ability to liaise with the test support, engineering and Quality functions. Attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are mitigated. Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting. Understanding of “clean as you go”/6S/FOD/Tool control programs mandatory. Experienced with quality inspection points and process documentation. A very high level of health and safety awareness. Must be able to take direction well and is a strong team player. Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection. Excellent listening and communication skills. Excellent organisational skills and problem-solving skills. Please note this role requires UK defence security clearance to SC level as a minimum, you must be SC clearable to apply for this role
