HGV Mechanic

to join our maintenance team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our waste vehicle fleet, carrying out repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a fleet of waste collection vehicles, including HGVs and specialist equipment. Perform diagnostics to identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults. Carry out inspections to ensure compliance with DVSA standards. Attend to breakdowns and conduct roadside repairs when required. Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards within set timelines. Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used. Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Work collaboratively with the workshop team to maintain operational efficiency. Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Technician. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical issues. Knowledge and experience of working on waste vehicles (desirable but not essential). HGV Class 2 license (preferred but not mandatory). Ability to work independently and within a team.
