The erection and removal of temporary signs and barriers (permanent signs and barriers). Preparation, application, compaction and removal of soils, rocks, coated and other materials. Hot material patching by hand. Drainage works, excavation, pipe laying, kerb laying, scrub cutting. Installation and fixing of temporary/permanent road furniture. Operation of power tools, small plant and machinery. Driving vehicles including those with simple attachments such as tractors. Provide support for specialist roadworkers. Responsibility for the health and safety of the public, colleagues and yourself. Participating in standby and winter maintenance rota. Winter maintenance duties which include fitting gritter body and blade, driving gritter and spread salt by hand if required. Knowledge, Skills and Experience
There is a requirement to undertake training and to achieve competence in aspects of the job. Knowledge of the requirement for Health and Safety rules and procedures. Physically fit for working in sometimes arduous conditions. Experience of using small plant. Holding tickets for plant, traffic management, and Health and Safety an advantage. Full UK driving license preferably at LGV Class C level. Why BEAR?
