Company Description Portesbery School provides quality education and support to about 165 students from 3-19 all with severe learning difficulties and many with additional disabilities. Portesbery School provides a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all its students. Role Description This is a volunteer Governor role at Portesbery School located in Deepcut. Meetings, which are hybrid, are held termly in the early afternoon, while monitoring visits can be arranged on any day the school is open. As a Governor, you will be involved in strategic decision-making, policy development, and supporting and challenging the school leadership team. Responsibilities include attending governing body meetings, contributing to the school's vision, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Ability to attend our termly meetings and visit the school at other times Willingness to undertake training Interest in special education New governors are supported with a comprehensive suite of induction and training modules covering cybersecurity, finance, GDPR, safeguarding and other important topics.
