Overview We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing and construction, demonstrating the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. As a Roofer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. Responsibilities - Install roofing systems using a variety of materials such as shingles, metal, and tiles. - Repair and replace damaged roofs, ensuring proper sealing and waterproofing. - Fabricate roofing components as needed to fit specific designs or requirements. - Read and interpret schematics to understand project specifications and requirements. - Perform heavy lifting tasks as necessary during installations and repairs. - Operate power tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and fastening materials. - Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and masons, to ensure project completion. - Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to safety regulations. Qualifications - Proven experience in roofing or a related field is essential. - Proficiency in using power tools and equipment safely. - Ability to plumb structures accurately for proper installation of roofs. - Experience in welding is advantageous but not mandatory. - Strong skills in masonry work will be considered an asset. - Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the day. - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. - A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
