Panks is a family-run business that was established in 1842.

Due to expansion within our Sales department, Panks is currently looking for an Internal Sales Co-ordinator to join the Panks team.

This role will be based in our Norwich branch on a 40-hour week contract working between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

Main Responsibilities

Internal sales and trade counter;

Handle incoming telephone and e-mailed enquiries;

Generating quotes and processing customer orders;

Generating purchasing orders/raising invoices;

Providing technical advice to customers ensuring they have the correct product for their requirements;

Serving on trade counter selling products, offering advice and taking enquiries;

Assisting external sales engineers & business development managers with enquiries;

Assisting other departments with product selection, pricing etc;

Providing leads to Service Department as well as other departments for install and service work;

Stock handling and lifting;

Dealing with customer payments;

Handling incoming complaints;

Handling customer returns;

Skills Needed

Customer service skills with a polite telephone manner and general demeanour;

Experience in an office-based sales environment;

Understanding of profits and margins (cost vs resale);

Good written and verbal communication skills;

Numerate and computer literate (experience with Microsoft Office);

Organised and methodical;

Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload based on customer urgency;

Ability to learn and understand a large range of products, including pumps, pipes and fittings, valves, controls, etc.

Ability to read and understand technical data sheets, graphs, etc. to ensure correct product selection;

Ability to learn new and sometimes technical concepts;

Training/Qualifications needed to undertake role

GCSE in Maths or equivalent.

Familiarity with using computer systems to provide quotes, process orders, log customer information, etc. - training to be given on Panks’ internal systems;

Training courses provided by suppliers and internal staff members, as appropriate.
