As the leading independent online retailer of classical & jazz recordings, printed music, books & instruments, we are looking for a Store Manager to grow our retail operations in Leamington Spa. With your love of leading people and motivation to deliver beyond expectation, your role will be to set ambitious targets and lead your team to deliver a unique retail experience. A love of music is a must in this role, but the ability to play an instrument is not: we are looking for a seasoned retail manager with a passion for great customer service, coupled with a desire to provide the right products for our customers. Through supervising and motivating staff, you’ll manage the day-to-day operation and ensure the retail team are engaged to exceed customer service expectations, and are proud to talk about our products and services. Our store is a major part of our company; we offer a large range of instruments alongside educational facilities for community-focussed events and a performance space for album launches and local concerts. You will play an important part of this wider aspect of Presto’s vision, to ensure that our environment is inspirational for all musicians and music lovers, and that our passion for music is communicated to all who visit. Responsibilities: Operate the smooth running of the Presto Music store and achieve or exceed agreed sales targets Manage a team of instrumental sales specialists and general assistants to drive sales forward, both in-store and with music and educational institutions Provide and inspire a very high level of customer service Regular liaison with the Sales Director to maximise sales and reinforce the overall strategies of the business Execute sales promotion activities Design and carry out weekly training sessions, focussing on customer service, sales and product knowledge Responsibility for shop staffing and rota Liaising with suppliers and building strong relationships Ensure product ranges match customer needs whilst delivering a good return on investment Liaise with website content managers to maximise cross-channel sales (i.e. driving website visitors into store and store customers towards website) Skills & Requirements: Passionate about music Strong and confident leader, able to make decisions Excellent communication skills Patient and good listener Enjoys dealing with customers and members of the public Ability to motivate and encourage staff, enabling them to flourish via regular training and development A high level of computer literacy A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy retail environment A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing or leading a small team of people in a retail environment Salary : In the region of £30k-£32k, depending on experience Location : Based in our store in Leamington Spa To apply : Please email your CV and covering letter, including details of your current or most recent salary, to Jonny Brading at jonny.brading@prestomusic.com.
