Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager with a strong commercial background. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a mix of mechanical engineering expertise and a solid understanding of project finances, cost control, and business strategy. You will oversee mechanical engineering projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring that all deliverables meet client expectations, while managing budgets, timelines, and commercial relationships effectively. Key Responsibilities: Project Management:

Lead mechanical engineering projects, managing the project lifecycle from planning and design to execution and delivery. Commercial Focus:

Take ownership of project budgets, ensuring profitability, cost control, and commercial performance. Stakeholder Management:

Engage with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, managing relationships and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Budget & Financial Management:

Develop detailed project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures where possible. Manage resources effectively to ensure financial success. Risk & Opportunity Management:

Identify financial and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively seek opportunities to improve project margins. Contract Management:

Oversee contract negotiations and manage the commercial aspects of the contract to ensure compliance and protect the company's interests. Team Leadership & Collaboration:

Lead a cross-functional team, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and performance across various departments. Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare detailed reports, including financial analysis, progress updates, and performance metrics for stakeholders. Key Requirements: Qualifications: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline. Relevant professional qualifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, APM) or commercial management (e.g., CIPS or MRICS). Certification or training in cost management or financial management for projects is desirable. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with a commercial focus, within the mechanical engineering or construction industry. Experience in managing budgets, contracts, and procurement, with a strong understanding of commercial aspects of project delivery. Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget while meeting quality standards. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, project planning software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and engineering principles. Financial acumen with a solid understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and manage relationships with key stakeholders. Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in dynamic environments.
