Welcome to KFC. This role will be critical in driving improvements in Yum! Legal entity statutory and tax compliance across the EMEA region. This role will report to the International Tax Director but will work closely with the finance function. Initially, the role will be focused on producing UK statutory accounts to ensure you have a solid grasp of Yum! systems and processes and from there we would like you to marry that knowledge, your professional accounting skills and your curiosity for learning and improvement to help drive standardization of statutory accounting and tax processes across the region and brands of Yum!. What you’ll do Coordinate with Brand control departments to ensure that statutory accounts across several EMEA jurisdictions comply over time to a standard production approach, standardized tracking of statutory adjustments vs US GAAP and standardized support for auditors and other stakeholders. Produce statutory accounts and manage statutory auditors where resource gaps need to be filled occasionally in control departments. There will be an initial focus on UK statutory accounts. Provide data and interact with external service providers where statutory accounts are outsourced. Act as a first level support for technical accounting queries. Support communication of guidance from US and how legal entity flows work. Maintain data shares and workflow tools between control/tax and external parties. Maintain key intercompany calculations and ensure these are posted correctly to system and calculated according to the Intercompany agreements and work with US consolidations team to ensure everything eliminates correctly. Update templates of Inter-company agreements where required. Support the central tax transfer pricing team in any accounting or data requests needed for transfer pricing reports. Support legal entity formations/acquisitions and disposals/liquidations from an accounting perspective. What we’d love from you About You While this is not a pure technical accounting role, we do expect you to have a strong interest to research accounting topics and marry that to practical solutions for accounts production. You will need to get comfortable digging into systems and data to figure out how processes work. Strong coordination and communication skills. You will need to be assertive enough to make your case to get data/ keep your projects moving along even when they are not the top priority for some of the stakeholders involved but still be expected to maintain a good long-term working relationship with all stakeholders. Experience Qualified accountant with public accounting experience of producing statutory accounts and some experience in an in-house role. In addition, some experience with US MNCs would be advantageous. You need demonstrable experience of managing different clients/and or stakeholders and working with heterogeneous data systems. Some experience on financial systems implementation particularly on the process change/change management side would be helpful. Experience in either FRS102 – UK GAAP, IFRS or US GAAP is a must. Familiarity with European GAAP systems (France/Germany) would be a plus as well as a capability in a European language (French/German). Ready to apply?
