Are you an experienced, qualified Electrician? Do you want to work in a diverse and rewarding role with the opportunity to add to your skills? Are you looking for a new challenge where the work you do allows you to stay local to Stockton-on-Tees and have a positive impact on the people of the borough?

Look no further! We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrician to join us in the Highways and Street Lighting team here at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

The role will be responsible for the maintenance, service, testing, repair, fault diagnosis, installation of street lighting, street furniture and associated equipment. This involves working outdoors and at height.

Working overtime and weekends is often a requirement due to operational demands and pressures. This is an important part of the Highway service, and the ability to be on call and work outside normal working hours in line with operational needs is crucial. (Training and payment for this will be provided).

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued, and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

We offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave of up to 27 days (plus bank holidays), learning and development opportunities, local government pension with the option to add extra contributions, and access to a number of other benefits like a car lease scheme, discounts at high street and online retailers, an employee assistance programme, and physiotherapy services.

If you want to chat more about the role, please get in touch with Andy Woodhouse, Assistant Highways and Street Lighting Manager on 01642 527736.

Please note that all communication regarding your application for this post will be sent to the email address that you have registered with North East Jobs, including your invite to interview if you are short-listed. Please check your email after the closing date for notification from ‘DONOTREPLY@NORTHEASTJOBS.ORG.UK’. All communication will also appear in the ‘My Messages’ section of your North East Jobs account.
