With close to 100 years of industry pedigree, you will be working for one of the leading Medium package Civil/Groundworks contractors in the UK and Ireland. They are fast becoming one of the go-to contractors for medium-scale civil packages across the South and London and they are looking to bring in a senior engineer to head up a team of on-site engineers and operatives.
Your new role
You will be tasked with overseeing a team of engineers and operatives on site, reviewing the design of a given project and then implementing the design on site to the letter of the brief, offering engineering expertise with ongoing quality control issues and health and safety. You will be, in effect, the lead Engineer for the site, reporting directly to the Senior PM who is overseeing the given project.
The specific project you will be initially tasked with is the groundworks and line connection of a fuel pipeline at Gatwick Airport.
What you'll need to succeed You will need to have relevant experience of managing a team of engineers on site, as well as taking notable civil/groundworks packages from cradle to grave. While you will NOT need to have any airside tickets or possess any Airport works experience, you will ideally have worked on any of the following: Water pumping station Waste water networks Sewage works Gas Pipeline/Networks Any other form of subsurface pipe laying/connecting
