Gould Barbers is seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Finance Leader to join our team as Finance Director with a path to progress into a CFO role within 12-24 months. This highly impactful position provides the opportunity to shape the financial and operational strategy of the business, driving continued growth and profitability. As Finance Director, you will work closely with the co-founders and retiring CFO to become an integral part of our leadership team. You will work with other senior leaders and the Board to scale operations, enhance financial performance, and solidify Gould Barber’s position as the leading player in the UK’s barbering industry. This is a unique opportunity to join the largest barbering chain in the UK, with an entrepreneurially driven environment that values forward thinking and excellence. Gould Barbers has expanded rapidly since it was established in 2016, and as we continue to grow at an exciting pace, we need an exceptional Finance Director to help guide us toward even greater success. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the leadership team to drive business success and strategic growth. Provide expert financial guidance, offering analysis to inform strategic decisions, company targets, and business drivers. Manage funding strategies to support continued growth. Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow modelling. Oversee financial processes and systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, taxation, GDPR, and risk management policies. A background in IT and systems would be advantageous. What We’re Looking For: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with up-to-date technical expertise. Experience in senior finance leadership, particularly in a fast-growing business. Expertise in financial modelling, data analysis, and presenting actionable insights at Board level. A proven track record of scaling businesses and enhancing operational performance. A passion for doing so is essential. Expertise in managing cashflow and securing finance to support business expansion. An interest and expertise in using IT systems, especially in a retail environment. What Makes You the Right Fit: Financial acumen and experience. Strong leadership and a team player. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Strategic thinker, capable of solving complex business challenges. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Self-confident, hardworking, and trustworthy. Energetic and enthusiastic to drive the business forward. Experience (ideally) in a rapidly growing business and a desire to “take it to the next level.” About the Business: Gould Barbers is the UK’s largest barbering chain, operating within the exciting and booming male grooming industry. We currently have 49 shops across England, from York to Southampton, and from Southport to Norwich, with 200 self-employed barbers providing over 0.5 million haircuts annually. Our unique and innovative partnership with Tesco ensures that our shops are in prime locations within their thriving retail environments - as a result, our shops and our barbers are also the busiest in the country. The Gould Barbers Academy is dedicated to training our next generation of barbers, with over 40 apprentices currently being developed on our apprenticeship programme. Gould Barbers was founded in King’s Lynn and has its Head Office there. It could be beneficial for our new Finance Director to be based there in Norfolk, but with our nationwide coverage of shops, it could also work well to be based anywhere in the UK. We are therefore flexible about this and open to applications from across the UK. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional looking to make a significant impact within an organisation committed to excellence in its operations. Seniority level
