Manufacturing We know that growing is about more than just crops and cultivation. It’s about sunshine and rain, early mornings and hard work. It can be frustratingly unpredictable but also wonderfully uplifting. More than anything, it’s about people. Nufarm is the dependable partner behind thousands of agricultural success stories. Every day, growers around the world turn to our products and our people to help with the challenges of fighting disease, weeds and pests, and to increase crop yields. How can you unearth the possibilities with Nufarm? Join our growing site as our new Waste Manager. You will play a key role in achieving team goals that match the organization's objectives. As our Site Waste Manager, you will be a role model for Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) compliance, ensuring a safe workplace by understanding and applying safety practices. You will be a natural team player working with other departments to reach common goals. In this role, you will take responsibility for meeting business goals and be proactive in improving and solving problems. Your focus will be to lead efforts to reduce waste in line with corporate goals and continuously strive for improvement, acting as a change agent. You understand and apply work processes to be efficient and effective, always looking to improve key performance metrics. Additionally, you will have strong technical skills, including detailed knowledge of site waste streams and regulatory requirements related to environmental and hazardous waste. Role responsibilities: Ensure HSE adherence and compliance within areas of influence. Promote a ‘safety first’ culture. Manage the inventory of waste at R2, including arranging waste collections and working with the Effluent Plant Manager to manage wastes that can be treated via the Effluent Plant. Manage relationships with waste suppliers and regulatory bodies where required. Provide accurate and timely waste data to Operations Leader to support the generation of the waste budget. Maintain the Waste Management Database to satisfy all legal requirements, maintain the site’s ISO 14001 accreditation, and provide information at a Regional and Corporate level for Nufarm’s sustainability reporting responsibilities. Provide training for Operations staff on the correct use of the waste management system. Review potential to remove/reduce volumes of waste at source – Corporate target of 20% hazardous waste reduction. Carry out waste supplier site audits as part of Nufarm’s Duty of Care responsibilities. Review Nufarm’s Pollution Inventory on an annual basis to determine whether better environmental outcomes can be found for waste streams to satisfy Nufarm’s responsibility to apply the waste hierarchy. Assist in long-term strategic planning for considering potential significant increases in waste volumes under Project Transcend. Ensure site complies with all legislative requirements related to waste, including the requirement to remove all hazardous waste from site in less than 6 months (prevention of legacy waste accumulation). What do you bring? Join our team if you have knowledge of hazardous waste disposal and associated regulatory requirements and experience in creating and implementing sustainable waste reduction initiatives. What’s in it for you? Growth and development opportunities across our global organisation. Enhanced holiday entitlement of 28 days per year (plus bank holidays). A boosted pension scheme – we will match 1.25% to every 1% you pay (up to 8%). Free canteen. Health Cash Plan. Long service awards. Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). A friendly and supportive team where you are encouraged to be yourself and come as you are! That’s just what we think, we’d love to hear from you what you think is possible. #unearththepossibilities If you want to be a part of a thriving, supportive environment and are inspired by the prospect of being a part of something bigger, we’d love to hear from you. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we value diversity. All employment decisions are decided based on qualifications, merit, and business needs. We are committed to building an inclusive environment for all Nufarm employees.
