About the Role:
We are working with a fantastic SEN school for a dedicated and compassionate graduate to join their team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant. This role is beneficial for an Aspiring Youth Offending Officer. In this exciting, full-time role, you will work closely with young people displaying Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties, many of whom have a history of offending behaviour. You'll have the opportunity to help guide them through rehabilitation programs, build meaningful relationships, and support their journey to positive social reintegration.
Responsibilities:
Support young offenders in overcoming personal challenges, reducing risky behaviours, and preventing reoffending.
Assist in the creation and delivery of personalised intervention plans aimed at promoting positive changes.
Build rapport and trust with individuals on a 1:1 or small group basis, guiding them through rehabilitation and skills development.
Promote social integration, personal responsibility, and the development of healthy lifestyle choices.
Collaborate with professionals such as social workers, probation officers, and educators to provide holistic support.
We're Looking For:
A recent graduate in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field with a strong interest in youth justice and supporting young people.
While previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, it's not essential; full training and support will be provided.
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with young people who may have challenging behaviours.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable individuals.
A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
