Additional responsibilities include: Assisting other Clinical Secretaries with their workload Promoting the dissemination of quality patient information Providing non-clinical advice and information to patients/clients/relatives Utilizing a full range of secretarial procedures and software programmes (PAS, Theatre, EPR, Digital Dictation) to improve service efficiency and effectiveness Understanding medical terminology and assisting colleagues with transcription outputs Exercising judgment when dealing with patient enquiries, analyzing and resolving problems at source Assisting in new staff induction and identifying and supporting their training requirements Facilitating a supportive learning environment for all members of the secretariat team to develop Recognizing effective utilization of development resources and opportunities Promoting continuous improvement by disseminating new knowledge to colleagues Accepting responsibility for personal development Supervising administration support and work experience students to maintain an effective office system
