Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mechanic and MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure customer satisfaction. The Mechanic and MOT Tester will utilize their mechanical knowledge and expertise to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Utilising your technical knowledge to carry out repairs and maintenance on customer vehicles, including minor and major mechanical work. Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as major and minor servicing (oil/filters changes and brake inspections). Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and recommend appropriate solutions. Carry out complete electrical, transmission and engine repair work. Utilize diagnostic equipment to accurately identify potential problems and recommend appropriate solutions. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of repairs. Maintain a clean, organised and safe workspace. Communicate successfully with customers where needed to explain repair findings and recommendations. Weld, assemble, and disassemble vehicle components as required. Qualifications: Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent). Have at least 2 years’ experience after qualifying period. Valid MOT Tester certification is preferred but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate. Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems.
