Workshop Sheet Metal Worker Location: Manchester Rate: £26.00-£27.00p/h (+ overtime rates: Saturday +£3/hour, Sunday +£5/hour) 8-10 hours days Mon-Fri (Plus Weekend Work) Contract Length: Initial 3 months Outside IR35 Our client is a leading UK engineering and installations company, providing tailored solutions to major blue-chip manufacturers across the FMCG sector. They are seeking skilled Sheet Metal Workers / TIG Welders to join their team on a contract basis for an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. Role Overview: As a Sheet Metal Worker / TIG Welder, you'll be working to produce high-quality food manufacturing process equipment and plant components. This includes: Fabrication and assembly of guarding, ducting, hoppers, chutes, conveyors, and more. Working with stainless steel and engineering drawings to tight tolerances. Utilizing tools like bending machines, grinders, saws, and presses. TIG welding to food industry standards. Supporting installation work on-site when needed. Qualifications: Level 3 Qualification or time-served apprenticeship in Fabrication / Sheet Metal Work or Welding. Valid CSCS card or Site Safety Passport (preferred). Skills and Experience: Expertise in TIG welding and stainless-steel fabrication. Experience in food manufacturing engineering is essential. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Self-starter attitude with a strong focus on quality. Your own welding mask (PPE and additional equipment can be supplied). Flexible to travel to site when required.
