Product Safety Engineer

to support the safety qualification and certification of aircraft systems and support products throughout their lifecycle. This role involves hazard identification, safety assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety certification requirements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct safety analyses (e.g., Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis) for aircraft systems and subsystems. Prepare Aircraft Zonal Hazard Analysis Reports (ZHAs) and provide input to certification processes. Maintain and update hazard logs and generate safety justifications for design safety. Evaluate and review certification evidence, ensuring product safety meets acceptable standards. Support emergent issue risk assessments and through-life safety of platforms and support products. Develop and present safety certification material for projects. Essential Skills and Experience: HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent in a STEM subject, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in safety engineering, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desirable Skills and Knowledge: Background in aerospace, aeronautical, or mechanical engineering, particularly in a military airborne platform context. Familiarity with safety standards such as Def-Stan 00-55/00-56, Mil-Std-882, ARP 4754/4761, and EN 61508. Experience with safety tools like Fault Tree Analysis+, Reliability Workbench, and Goal Structured Notation (GSN). Strong ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders on technical product safety aspects.
