Cognition Energy is recruiting for a battery cell data analyst to join its growing battery cell testing team. This role will see you working on customer-facing projects, providing test data and summary information relating to ongoing testing, and also see you involved in internal testing and development activities as we develop and improve our service. The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of how battery cells are tested and experience handling the data generated, preferably using MATLAB or similar. Additional consideration will be given if you have experience writing code for automating data processing and visualisation. We are looking for an adaptable, talented and creative person to join the team and become a part of our growing company. We are supportive of flexible working and creating a trusting work environment. This is a full-time, on-site position. Cognition Energy provides a testing service to characterise battery cells for external clients from R&D scale to gigafactories, automotives and pack developers. We also develop CellPods, which are unique temperature control cell test chambers. Cognition's long-term goal is to help the world switch to a 100% renewable future! What you’ll do: Act as the primary point of contact for customers in matters relating to test data outputs. Discuss data requirements and test campaign progress with customers, as well as providing raw, processed and summary data according to the agreed schedule. Use Cognition’s MATLAB-based software for processing and visualising cell testing data in support of cell testing activities. Run regular checks on project test data, monitoring overall test progress and contributing to the preparation of reports, as needed. Work with the cell testing and R&D teams to conduct in-house testing and analyse the results. Support the further development of Cognition’s data processing software to improve the company’s data analysis and lab management capabilities. What you’ll have: Experience using MATLAB or similar for data processing and visualising large datasets. Experience working with battery cell test data. Strong numeracy, quantitative and organisational skills, as well as good attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work in a small team and take responsibility for your day-to-day tasks to hit set deadlines. Even better if you also have: A solid understanding of how battery cells function and are tested. Experience developing software tools for analysing and visualising cell test data.
