Essential Criteria Receptionist Role Part Time - 25 hrs+ per week Monday - Friday, - 8:30am - 1:30pm/1pm - 6pm combination of mornings and afternoons as per rota A waiting list may be compiled for any similar posts that arise over the next 12 months. The successful candidates will have the following qualifications, skills & experience: 4 GCSEs (grade A-C) including English & Mathematics or equivalent or 3 years administration office experience gained within the last 5 years. Previous experience of IT use in the workplace. Minimum 6 months experience of dealing with members of the public (face to face and telephone). Excellent telephone manner. Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Ability to multi-task. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Flexibility to cover sickness and holidays if necessary. Preferable Criteria Minimum 6 months experience in a medical environment, in particular a GP surgery. We reserve the right to increase the minimum length of experience (public and/or medical environment) for short-listing purposes. Failure to do so will result in your application not being successfully short-listed. Core Responsibilities include but are not exhaustive: General reception duties – greeting patients and professionals in person and on the telephone. Making/cancelling appointments. Organise prescriptions when authorised. Co-ordinate patient appointments, hospital letters, prescription requests and information with the whole practice team. Diary management. Maintain a tidy reception desk, GP rooms and waiting areas. Organising, filing, scanning and maintaining patient records. Providing information regarding practice services. Entries into patient’s computer records as directed. Liaising with pharmacists, nursing homes and other agencies. Maintain prescription and equipment security. Any other relevant tasks allocated by the Practice Manager or Doctors. Job Types:
