PLEASE NOTE; The start date for this post will be no earlier than May 2025 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our General Surgery Team in the Surgical Division as a rota coordinator at ULHT. This is a post based at either Lincoln or Grantham dependent on candidates preference, and covering rotas across all sites at ULHT. The post will play an important part in delivery of services by managing General Surgery clinical rotas, ensuring any gaps in rota are covered, and working as part of a cohesive team. This role will contribute towards service improvement and performance of a very busy department. This post will involve day to day management of General Surgery medical staffing rota and ensuring that gaps are covered in a timely manner. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, be able to deal with situations tactfully with diplomacy. It is a fast-paced job, hence the ability to adapt and prioritise is essential. Experience of working with patients, or in a customer-facing environment is essential. A knowledge of NHS targets is desirable, but not essential. Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the wider clinical team, secretarial team and higher management team in delivering service demands. The successful candidate will also have the following skills: Experience of finding solutions to complex problems Experience of data collection Excellent verbal and written communication skills Adaptable to change Readiness to try new things A successful candidate will be proactive and will take initiatives to improve tasks within their job scope. It is a demanding role and requires the successful applicant to be comfortable working with multiple deadlines and changing priorities. The Rota Co-Ordinator is a vital part of the effective functioning of the Trauma & Orthopaedic specialty. Provides a comprehensive and administrative service to the medical and admin staff within the Business Unit. Maintains and manages the covering of gaps of the rotas working at least 6 weeks in advance to ensure that all staff are aware of their weekly timetables. Maintains, records and adds any additional duties undertaken (both internal and agency doctors) to ensure timely payment of additional shifts. Organises and supports teaching and audit programmes. Organises new starters and trainee doctor induction programmes and appraisals. Ensures correct procedures are followed for recording sickness and annual leave for all junior doctors. GCSE English C or equivalent level of attainment Previous Experience
