Majority home working Key responsibilities:

Managing the caseload of you and the team in the investigations and enforcement processes including any appeals arising. Managing the caseload of you and the team in the Fitness to Practice and Interim Suspension processes. Providing support and advice to the team and all staff in the Investigations and Enforcement Team. Personally handle and take decisions in the most legally and factually complex of such cases and those involving the most reputational risk to the organisation and deal with any litigation arising. Working across the team and with other departments to develop and deliver organisation-wide strategies and projects, supporting the organisations to grow and develop as a strong and sustainable regulator. The staff reporting to the role holder are effectively managed, appraised, and developed in line with the organisations performance management framework. Manage the investigation of and investigate potential breaches of the organisations Handbook. Manage the team’s and own decision making in the enforcement processes including all powers delegated by the Commissioner in accordance with the Scheme of delegations and Enforcement Decision making Regulations. Ensure that all cases and decisions, including those presenting the most reputational risk to the organisation, are handled effectively without any unnecessary financial exposure and/or damage to the reputation of the organisation. Person Specification:

Qualified solicitor, barrister or FCILEx in England and Wales or the equivalent in a foreign common law jurisdiction (must be entitled to hold a practising certificate). Managing a team or acting in a supervisory capacity. Operating within a regulatory regime. Experience of Tribunals, Hearings, or similar processes. Legal procedures or experience of litigation.
