Registered General Nurse Gynaecology Outpatients and Colposcopy Clinic Are you looking for a new challenge? Interested in women's health? If so, the Gynae Care Suite Aberystwyth would like to hear from you. An exciting opportunity has become available in the Gynae Care Suite for a forward-thinking part-time Registered General Nurse in Bronglais General Hospital and Cardigan Integrated Care Centre.

Clinics consist of nurse-led clinics including pessary and pregnancy advisory services. Additional clinics include colposcopy, hysteroscopy, vulval, menopause, rapid access, and post-menopausal clinics.

The applicant will be fully supported and trained and must be keen to learn new skills. We are a friendly team and will welcome the new applicant into the role.

Main duties of the job The Gynae Care Suite has a range of nurse-led and outpatient procedures. The post holder will have ongoing responsibility for the delivery of care to women in the Gynae Care Suite and will contribute to the smooth running of the unit.

With experience, the post holder will be expected to undertake nurse-led pessary clinics and may be expected to take charge of the unit in the absence of the Unit Manager.

The post holder will prepare for and assist in the performance of all gynaecological procedures, diagnostics, and therapeutics. These procedures are specialised, and an eye for detail and observation is called for. A willingness to learn and promote women's health is essential. Self-development is encouraged and supported within the unit.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge

Level 1 Registered Nurse

Current NMC Registration

Evidence of continuing professional development

Statutory and mandatory training

Awareness of Health Board Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines

Able to relate theory to practice

Maintain their personal and organisational professional Development

Basic Life Support

Willingness to develop skills/further knowledge base

Understanding and Promotion of patients advocacy

Understanding of accountability

Up to date on current nursing issues

Degree in Nursing

Teaching Qualification

Cervical smear taker

Phlebotomy and cannulation skills

Experience

Flexible approach to working hours and ability to adapt to staff and women's needs

Relevant Experience within gynaecology and colposcopy specialities

Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant speciality

Language Skills

Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
