The company supplies black, green, speciality, fruit & herbal teas, and offers private label solutions. We are looking to recruit an Engineering Technician to join the team in Newcastle.

Maintain and improve the safety, legality and quality of products manufactured in accordance with food safety and quality policy. Efficiently maintain all production and warehouse machinery in good working order. Keep the machines and fittings in a clean and hygienic state, ensuring compliance with hygiene instructions and good housekeeping practices. Operate a line regularly, including setting the machine up, running, packing and completing line checks. Ensure all appropriate servicing maintenance and breakdown information is recorded accurately on the maintenance database. Support the development of the Planned Preventive Maintenance plan. Service production machinery, attend breakdowns and escalate as necessary. Involve in Continuous Improvement activities to drive increase in asset performance. Train Operators and packers to perform basic asset maintenance. Maintain the factory, warehouse and office buildings. Switch on and off all machines in the factory as required. Open and lock up the factory, setting alarms as required. Observe health and environmental safety regulations. Recommend and implement changes necessary to improve the operation of the department. Order spares in the absence of the Engineering Team Leader. Supervise sub-contractors as instructed by the Engineering Team Leader. Assist production staff to ensure efficient and continuous output. Work rotational shifts, including Earlies, Lates, and Nights as required. Behave in a polite, acceptable and responsible manner. Train new staff as required. Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineering Team Leader, Manufacturing or Technical Manager. Relationships and Roles:

Proactively establish and maintain effective team relationships with all support departments. Job Specifications:

Ideally have experience working on IMA, C51, C23, C27, Ilapak fill, Marden Edward over wrappers, and Fuso tea bag machines, Bradman lake carton packers, Fuji flow-wrappers. Electrical qualification would be advantageous. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn. Ability to cope in a busy environment. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Be proactive and take the initiative. Current Working Hours:

Earlies:

Monday to Friday, 630-1430 (40 minutes break daily) Lates:

Monday to Thursday, 1430-2300 (40 minutes break daily); Friday, 1430-2030 (40 minutes break) There is also a requirement to work 6 weekends per year (one day either a Saturday or Sunday) by agreement. Benefits:
