The UX Researcher at Cromwell Tools will be responsible for gathering and analysing insights about our users to inform and optimize digital design decisions. In this role, you will plan, conduct, and analyse research activities to deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and behaviours, which will directly impact the design and functionality of Cromwell’s digital experiences. Working closely with UX and UI designers, product owners, Customer Experience team and data analysts, you’ll bring the voice of the user into every stage of the product development process.

What will you do on a normal day?

User Research & Insights

Design, plan, and execute qualitative and quantitative user research studies, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and field studies. Synthesize findings and identify key themes to understand user motivations, frustrations, and unmet needs.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Collaborate with UX designers, UI designers, product owners, and data analysts to ensure research findings are effectively integrated into the product development process. Present research insights to stakeholders at all levels to inform and guide design decisions.

Testing & Validation

Conduct usability testing on prototypes and live experiences, gather feedback, and recommend actionable improvements. Work with the data team to validate research findings with quantitative data and conversion metrics, ensuring a balanced approach to research.

Documentation & Communication

Create user personas, journey maps, and other documentation to share insights across teams and build empathy for users. Maintain a research repository of findings and insights for easy reference and continuous learning.

What are we looking for?

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field. Proven experience as a UX researcher, with a portfolio of past research projects and findings.

Technical & Analytical Skills

Proficiency in user research methodologies, including usability testing, A/B testing, and survey design. Experience with tools such as UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, or similar research platforms. Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., GA4) to complement qualitative research with quantitative insights.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations. Excellent communication skills to present research insights in an understandable and impactful way. Empathy for users, with a strong desire to create user-centred digital experiences.
