We are seeking a highly-motivated, professional individual with effective communication skills to join our successful Recoveries Team as a Litigation Handler. You will be reporting to the Recoveries Lead, mainly responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of cases suitable for recovery by litigation through to settlement. You will be the key link between Panel Lawyers and the business. Role:

Between £30,316 to £35,391 plus a potential bonus of up to £1500 per annum, paid quarterly What you will be doing: Handling a triage of incoming cases for litigation, only instructing lawyers on value-added cases. Conducting liability prospect risk assessment. Proactively managing a portfolio of litigated cases. Operating with a progressive approach to advance individual claims strategies and the business. Ensuring indemnity spend is minimized through commercial decision-making. Maximizing recovery potential through a tactical approach to the portfolio. Applying accurate reserves in line with company guidelines. Utilizing strategic knowledge to instruct lawyers, handle cases in-house, or attempt settlement. Managing a portfolio of litigated cases via virtual lawyer systems. Conducting prompt and thorough indemnity, liability, recoverability, and fraud investigations. Using schedules effectively to minimize hire duration and indemnity spend. Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as the business needs dictate. What we’re looking for: Persuasive, strong, and confident communicator with the ability to manage portfolios. Strong practical knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules. Ability to use initiative to explore all options for the best outcome for the business. A motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
