The Role:

The role is a great opportunity to join a well-established, supportive team as the company looks to undergo another exciting period of growth. As part of the next stage of the business's strategic growth plan, the company will be looking to introduce new machinery, new systems, and new working processes to allow for efficient working methods. This will include the implementation of a new SAP MRP system.

The business is a well-recognised, highly reputable industry leader that places a large emphasis on training and developing their staff members. The Manufacturing Manager has worked with the business for 4 years and has been promoted several times through the business, which demonstrates the emphasis the business places on ensuring all staff members reach their potential.

The Manufacturing Engineer will join a team of 3, including the Manufacturing Manager, another Manufacturing Engineer, and a Continuous Improvement Engineer, and will play a key role in setting up and streamlining new processes within the business, along with decreasing lead times by improving current processes. A knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is key for this role.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Design new systems, equipment, and processes to support new product introduction across operational areas. Work cross-functionally within the organisation to ensure all product and system requirements are taken into account from the initial product conception to the finished result. Support during the review and tender stages for new equipment, working with internal stakeholders to agree on technical specifications. Liaise as appropriate with suppliers and customers to support projects. Liaise with research and development staff to ensure new products can be assembled and the correct processes and equipment are available for start-up. Improve current operations as requested, working cross-functionally to agree on scope and delivery in full. Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria focusing on efficiency and speed.

Key skills and experience required:

Previous experience working in 2D and 3D design. Project Management experience, ideally on smaller scale projects. Experience working with MRPs, ideally SAP.
