Principal Mechanical Engineer - Building Services Location: Chelmsford Reference: BY1687 Salary: 60,000 - 75,000 Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for building services? This dynamic and growing team based near Chelmsford are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality mechanical engineering solutions for a diverse range of projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the mechanical engineering aspects of building services projects from concept to completion. Work closely with other disciplines to ensure integrated design and project success. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and teams. Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met. Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, standards, and best practices. Skills and Experience required for the principal mechanical engineer role: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Chartered status is a plus). Proven experience in building services engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior role. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building regulations, and sustainability practices. Experience in project management and client-facing roles. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Live in or near to Chelmsford.
