You will lead in the evaluation of new projects, software and hardware products, and vendors, including examining vendor contracts and terms of service. You will support teams across the council to develop their understanding of security risk and data privacy issues. You will bring a Service Management mindset to understanding the security landscape, with experience of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. We are looking for a someone who will take lead on the security of Lewisham IT & Digital Services, as well as partner with Shared Technology Services (STS) to put in place control over security systems, such as firewalls, data protection controls, patching, encryption, vulnerability scanning, application layer and penetration testing. You will be responsible for achieving compliance with Public Sector Network (PSN) and related government frameworks including those of the National Cyber Security Centre, the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and Information Security. The job is primarily based at Laurence House, Catford Road, London SE6 9SE, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. Special conditions
