Warm and welcoming working environment with ample hands-on support SEN Specialist Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for a child with non-verbal ASD. Dive into specific programs and activities tailored to meet individual learning and social needs, implementing targets outlined in pupils' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with class teachers and the SENCo. What We're Looking For:

An individual with a solid understanding of Autism and effective strategies, such as TEACCH, Makaton, or PECS, to support pupils with this need. Knowledge and empathy for social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as cognitive challenges affecting children and young people's development. Exceptional listening skills and the ability to build trusting relationships that foster growth and confidence. Resilience is key! Take on regular responsibility for agreed learning activities with enthusiasm and determination. Champion inclusion and promote the participation of all pupils in learning and social skills activities. Utilize positive and personalized anxiety management strategies to create a nurturing and supportive environment for our pupils.
