Job title: KS3/4 SEN English Teacher Salary: £162.31 - £195.05 Contract: Full-time Monday to Friday, from January (FTC Maternity Cover) Location: Chichester English Teacher QTS/QTLS required for a small specialist secondary school near Chichester. You will be teaching English Language and Literature within a small nurturing SEN school which caters for pupils aged 11 - 16 years with an Education Health Care Plan for Special Educational Needs which fall within the moderate learning difficulties range. This includes pupils with Speech and Language difficulties, social communication difficulties and autism. Class sizes are small and there is a large team of experienced classroom support providers. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic in teaching English, wanting to inspire students with their love of the subject, and highly capable in the classroom in order to be flexible and engaging. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to diverse learning needs and styles. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student need, learning and address any concerns. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments and observations. Maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior effectively. Requirements: A keen interest in English, as well as relevant experience in the subject and relevant degrees, with proven experience in teaching in a similar environment. Maintaining strong professional boundaries when building a rapport with students, and also focusing on fostering good working relationships with all members of staff. Working proactively with other members of the school team, including planning and preparing materials relevant to the needs of the pupils, considering their differentiated needs and progress in the subject, including consultation with other members of staff. A confident communicator in order to hold a classroom, previous class experience essential, though this post could be for QTS qualified teachers, ECT’s or Cover Supervisors with proven and referenced relevant experience. A commitment to 'getting involved' in overall school life and supporting the life of all pupils. At least 6 months UK Teaching experience in a relevant subject with clear experience in a similar education setting, which can be referenced. Job Types:
