This recently formed fintech group has an ambitious growth plan to acquire complementary businesses and disrupt the financial services offering in their sector. Following the purchase of several companies last year, they are now looking to appoint a Finance Manager to take responsibility for the group's finance function, monthly reporting, and improving processes. Reporting into a dynamic CFO, this will be a standalone role, so you will have a lot of autonomy and should have the drive and determination to make the role your own. An initial project will be to overhaul their reporting structures and make them fit for purpose so they can become a PLC. This will involve modernizing and improving systems to identify how finance can deliver MI to meet the needs of the business and remain compliant. The role will require someone with good IT skills, ideally SAGE or XERO, and Excel to a good level. Key responsibilities will be: Preparing weekly and monthly reports for the SMT Producing monthly management accounts Variance analysis and commentary on performance Balance sheet reconciliations Business partnering with stakeholders to improve efficiency Cost control and management of overheads Assisting CFO with regular forecasts and budgets Cashflow preparation and analysis Recording and controlling all transactional activity Ad hoc reporting and performance analysis Assisting with year-end audit and statutory accounts Preparation of VAT Returns The ideal candidate for this role would be CIMA/ACCA part or nearly qualified, preferably with experience in a PLC environment or medium/large company. The ability to meet deadlines and adapt to change will be important, in addition to possessing the communication skills to deal with colleagues working remotely. You will be home-based but will be required to attend in-person meetings in the Lancashire/North Manchester area. There will also be significant opportunities for development and progression as the business continues to expand.
