Management Accountant / Finance Manager
Annual Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE) Location: Basildon Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a dedicated Management Accountant / Finance Manager to take sole charge of our accountancy function up to trial balance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on financial management without the responsibility of team leadership. You will be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting tasks. Day-to-day of the role:
Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle up to trial balance, including VAT submissions, payroll, accruals, audits, postings, journals, costings, and cash flow management. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable. Ensure timely processing of payroll. Manage budgeting and forecasting. Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar role. Strong ability to handle the complete accountancy function up to trial balance independently. Proficient in VAT submissions, payroll processing, and creating financial statements. Experience with financial audits and the preparation of reports. Proficiency in Xero and other financial software. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong organisational and time management skills. Relevant certification (e.g., CIMA or ACCA) is preferred. Benefits:
