Senior Payroll Officer – Belfast SALARY: £36,000 pro-rata EMPLOYMENT: Part-time (3-days), permanent, office-based Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnered with an established contractor within the industry sector in Belfast in the appointment of a part-time and permanent Senior Payroll Officer to join their dynamic team! With a solid trading history, our client is an established UK and Ireland wide company. This would be an excellent opportunity for those with strong end-to-end payroll experience looking to take ownership of the company payroll function! Key responsibilities include: Collating weekly timesheets and calculating totals including querying any timesheet discrepancies Calculating employee pay to include hours worked, overtime rates, expenses, tax, national insurance payments, pensions and any other factors Processing of both weekly and monthly payroll to include a small number of ROI payroll employees. Processing any holiday, sick, maternity and paternity leave payments Generating all payroll reports for each pay period Generating payslips and dealing with any pay queries Distributing P45 for end of employment, and P60 to each employee annually RTI submissions for each pay period Issuing P32s each month to Accounts Department. Weekly entry of payroll costs to job costing package Weekly upload of pension info onto online portal. Providing relevant payroll info to external Accountant for year-end (annually) Point of contact for any queries relating to pay, condition etc. Consulting with Managing Director on Payroll/HR matters. All HR admin, e.g., issuing job offers, invitation to employment reviews, disciplinary processes, redundancy processes, taking minutes of HR-related meetings etc. Other ad hoc duties - not limited to the above. What you’ll need to succeed! Can demonstrate a minimum of four years' experience working within a payroll environment, processing end-to-end payroll. Experience using a payroll/accounting software. Current knowledge of payroll legislation and pension regulatory issues. Ability to work independently and take ownership of the payroll function. Desirable – understanding of HR administrative duties. Desirable – ROI payroll/pension experience.
