Role Overview

The Deputy Head (Academic) (DHA) will have a deep understanding of pedagogy and its application in a variety of educational contexts, leading efforts to identify and implement emerging best practices in education. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of the school’s delivery of a tailored education, putting children’s academic progress at the centre of everything. Act as the lead teacher for the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate (PSB) and liaise with all stakeholders to ensure this framework is fully embedded throughout the school. Develop teaching staff through continued professional development and the personal development process (appraisal) to identify areas for improvement. Ensure parents and guardians are kept informed about their child’s progress and academic performance. Oversee the development and implementation of pupil reports that accurately reflect each pupil’s progress and academic attainment. Organise and facilitate school parents’ evenings to provide opportunities for parents to meet their child’s teachers and discuss progress. Effective communication with parents is essential for creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Please see the attached job advert and description for full details.
